Ashley J. Heidler, MSN, RN, CPN, Professor of Practice of Nursing, joined the Gwynedd Mercy University faculty in 2022.
Heidler earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Villanova University and Master of Science in Nursing in Leadership & Health Systems Management from Drexel University. She holds additional accreditation from the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB). Prior to her education and work in the healthcare field, Heidler utilized her Bachelor of Science in Journalism, earned at Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, working in the global public relations/marketing communications sector.
Her prior nursing experience includes serving as a pediatric staff nurse at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children where she also held a variety of leadership and educational roles. Most recently, Heidler served as pediatric outreach manager for Doylestown Hospital where she created and implemented educational programming for community children and families promoting positive health behaviors.
Heidler has presented at national and international conferences on her work relating to mindfulness and the pediatric population. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and the Society of Pediatric Nurses. Her nursing specialty areas include pediatrics, community health, leadership, and complementary and integrative therapies.
