Beverly Barksdale has had a varied and distinguished career, which includes specializations in literacy, bilingual and bicultural studies, and teaching English to speakers of other languages (ESOL). A graduate of Howard University (B.A.) and LaSalle University (M.A), she is certified in Pennsylvania as a principal and currently serves as Area Director for Toastmasters International, District 38. Beverly also has an Ed.S in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University and an Ed.D in Higher Education and Leadership from Gwynedd Mercy University.
Having taught at the high school, college, and graduate levels, Beverly brings a wealth of experience to share with the counseling students at GMercyU, as well as to the larger university where she serves as a dissertation advisor for doctoral candidates and teaches Spanish classes. She also serves as VP of GMercyU's Alumni Association.
In her life outside of Gwynedd, Beverly sings with the Norristown Chorale, is an active member of her church, Macedonia Ministries, and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She enjoys the outdoors and spending time with family, friends, and her Border Collie, Girlie Girl.
