She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Temple University, a Master of Science Degree in Nursing-Adult Nurse Practitioner from Gwynedd Mercy University, and her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Gwynedd Mercy University. Her dissertation focused on The Effects of Technology on Student Engagement in a Baccalaureate Nursing Program.
Dr. Amoia-Watters currently co-coordinates the service trip to the Mustard Seed Communities in Jamaica for junior and senior Nursing and Social Work students, where they earn 3 academic credits. She appreciates the collaboration between nursing and social work students and faculty to effect change for the residents and caregivers.
She has taught in various courses and clinical, on all levels, including the elective Complementary and Integrative Therapies. Her most rewarding course is teaching the sophomore Nursing students the Health Assessment lecture and lab. “To see the growth in students from start to end is astonishing!”
Dr. Amoia-Watters is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the National Honor Society for Nurses. Her previous experience includes clinical nurse in medical\surgical, trauma stepdown, orthopedics, corporate nursing positions, and adjunct faculty for Montgomery County Community College.
