Assistant Professor Margaret Rakus joined Gwynedd Mercy University with corporate, agency, and academic experience and a single focus — to develop aDigital Communications programthat responds to regional employment trends and integrates digital technology and social media.
Prior to joining the GMercyU faculty, Dr. Rakus developed digital and social media curriculum for undergraduates and a post-baccalaureate online Integrated Social Media Certificate program. She served on the full time faculty at Albright College for 10 years, weaving applied skills practice into the Communications curriculum, co-developing the Digital Communications program and producing a weekly radio news program which was broadcast live on air and repurposed online.
Dr. Rakus regularly works with nonprofit organizations to develop strategy, content, and analysis plans. Previously, she held industry positions in marketing and public relations.
