Melissa Ash, BS, RRT-ACCS, RRT-NPS, RRT-SDS, RRT-CPFT, RRT-AE-Cis an Instructor for the Respiratory Care program at Gwynedd Mercy University. In 2024, she earned her Asthma Educator Certificate, making her fully certified with every specialty credential offered by the National Board for Respiratory Care. After graduating from West Chester University in Pennsylvania in 2004, Melissa accepted a job at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, where she has worked for nearly 20 years as a charge therapist in the surgical ICU and neonatal ICU.
She began teaching at GMercyU in 2021 but has continued to work at Jefferson.
Melissa has presented at both state conferences and international conferences and has been published multiple times. She is also a BLS (Basic Life Support) instructor.
