Michele Peterson, MS, OTR/L is an Assistant Professor for the Occupational Therapy program in the Frances M. Maguire College of Nursing and Health Professions. Professor Peterson serves as an instructor within in the Bachelor of Health Science in Occupational Science (BHS- OS) and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) programs. She has been licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR®) for over 20 years and has experience working in pediatrics, specifically: school-based, preschool age, birth to three, and pediatric in-patient and out-patient settings. Professor Peterson holds a specialty certification in the Sequential Oral Sensory Approach to feeding.
Prior to joining Gwynedd Mercy University, Professor Peterson served as the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for the Occupational Therapy program at Alvernia University. Her work as the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator allowed her the opportunity to develop emerging fieldwork opportunities within community settings and co-develop an adaptive fitness program with a local non-profit organization.
Professor Peterson is in the process of pursuing her Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy. She earned a M.S. in Occupational Therapy from Boston University, and a B.S. and associate degree in Science and Occupational Therapy from Penn State University.
