Randy earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Millersville University in 1994 and his Master’s in Disaster Medicine and Management from Philadelphia University in 2011. He is a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and a Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT). He has co-authored the respiratory anatomy chapter in a 60-chapter comprehensive textbook entitled, Respiratory Care: Principles and Practice, which has been adopted and used by students in the RC Program.
Prior to coming to Gwynedd Mercy, Randy worked predominantly within the University of Pennsylvania Health System working in pulmonary diagnostic labs, assisting the physicians at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania’s Interventional Pulmonary team and conducting pulmonary research.
Randy has also authored articles in academic journals such as Respiratory Care and Respirology. He has presented at the local, state and national levels on topics such as pulmonary function testing, updated spirometry standards, interventional bronchoscopy, disaster medicine and health care provider burnout. He has been inducted as a faculty member in to the Alpha Eta Society, the National Honor Society for Allied Health Professionals, and also as a faculty member in to the Lambda Beta Society, the National Honor Society for the respiratory care profession.
