Men's and Women's Basketball Teams Advance to CSAC Championships

Both the men's and women's basketball teams will compete in CSAC Championship games on Saturday, February 25th. You can catch the women's team take on Cabrini University at 2 p.m. in The Griffin Complex, or head over to Neumann University to watch the defending-champion men's team take on the Knights at 2 p.m.

Senior forward Arron Goodman sank a three-pointer at the buzzer on February 22nd, lifting the third-seeded men's basketball team to a wild 73-71 win at second-seeded Cabrini in a 2017 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Men's Basketball Tournament Semifinal contest.

The defending-champion Griffins move on to the CSAC Championship Game on Saturday, February 25th, where they'll play at top-seeded Neumann at 2 p.m. It will be a rematch of last season's title contest between the two teams. Check out the athletics website for more information on the game.

GMercyU's third-seeded women's basketball team also advanced to the CSAC Championship on Wednesday night, beating second-seeded Neumann University 88-69.

Five players finished in double figures after a dominating fourth quarter. Senior forward Charlotte Kucowski paced GMercyU with 17 points and a game-high 13 rebounds for her 11th double double on the season. Sophomore guard Monet McGorda netted 12 of her career-high 16 points in the second half. Senior forward Nicole Dombrowski (14 points), freshman forward Chyanne Fine (12 points), and junior guard Bianca Adams (10 points) also reached double digits.

The women will host fifth-seeded Cabrini University at The Griffin Complex on Saturday, February 25th at 2 p.m., in what will be GMercyU's first appearance in the title game since the 2012-13 season.
