Griffin Color Run Named Community Service Event of the Year
Gwynedd Mercy University's Student Activities Committee was honored by The Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities (APCA) at its regional conference over fall break. Each year, SAC's Executive Council attends the conference and this year, they came home big winners.
GMercyU's annual Griffin Color Run won Community Service Event of the Year. Last year's Griffin Color Run raised more than $1,000 for The Trevor Project, a group that provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention for LGBTQ youth. This year's Griffin Color Run is being held on Saturday, October 28 and all proceeds will benefit the Harvey Family Breathe.Hope.Cure. Foundation, which helps families suffering from cystic fibrosis.
SAC also came in third in the ACPA Northeast Regional Graphics Competition in Printed Material for their 2016 Color Run promo - check it out! - and first place in the T-Shirt Category for their 2017 Spring Fling shirt.
"I have been on SAC the last four years and each year we get better and better. I am so proud of our accomplishments and the dedication of our committee members," SAC President Chris Wood said. "The awards show that we are a growing committee and will always get better."
GMercyU's Student Activities Committee is dedicated to creating a vibrant campus community and is committed to providing students with leadership opportunities.
