Griffins Earn CSAC Team Academic Award

The Gwynedd Mercy University Field Hockey Team was named a recipient of the 2017 Colonial States Athletic Conference Team Academic Awards.

Established prior to the start of the 2013-14 academic year, the CSAC Team Academic Award is given annually to each sports team whose student-athletes, while competing in conference-sponsored sports, achieve the highest combined grade point average. Grade point average calculations correspond with the student-athletes' season of participation during the sport's traditional season. The 2017 Fall Team Academic Awards are based on each team's combined GPA from the Fall 2017 semester only.

The Griffins boasted a 3.546 team GPA in the classroom. On the field, the team won its sixth conference championship en route to an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2017. Their 17-4 record was the best in program history while going a perfect 7-0 in conference play for the third-straight season.
