GMercyU Welcomes #GriffinNation18 to Campus
Gwynedd Mercy University welcomed more than 500 new first-year and transfer students to campus this Thursday for Move-In Day and the kick-off of Orientation Weekend. Our newest Griffins hail from nine different states, 130 high schools, and 60 colleges.
In the morning, students checked in to their Residence Halls with the help of family, friends, current students, faculty and staff. President D'Emilio also made rounds personally welcoming new students and their families as they were moving in.
Following Move-In Day activities, everyone gathered in the Griffin Complex for the Welcome Ceremony and Class Blessing where students and their families were officially welcomed by President D'Emilio as well as GMercyU's Vice President for Academic Affairs, Mary Van Brunt, PhD.
The rest of the afternoon and evening were filled with informational sessions for parents and families, while students participated in fun activities and seminars with their Orientation Leaders. The remainder of the weekend will include GMercyU's annual Day of Service and more exciting events to engage GMercyU's newest students.
Welcome home, Griffins!
