2019 Graduate Awarded Third Place in Video Contest
Gwynedd Mercy University 2019 graduate Nhien Nguyen was awarded third place in the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas #MakeMercyReal video contest.
The annual contest highlights the many ways students from Mercy-affiliated institutions "Make Mercy Real." Videos must address one or more of the Critical Concerns of Mercy and either educate about an injustice, show how an individual or group experiences an injustice, or show how an individual or group confronts an injustice.
Nhien's video profiles stories of immigrants in Laredo, Texas. She documented their stories while participating in service during GMercyU's Alternative Spring Break experience. Each year, Griffins have the opportunity to travel across the country and around the world during campus breaks to participate in service projects and learn about cultural and social issues facing those particular communities.
Nhien recently graduated with her bachelor's degree in communications and plans on attending medical school. Check out Nhien's winning video below!
