GMercyU President Shares Holiday Message
Dear GMercyU Community,
As we leave the hectic pace of the semester and enter the holiday season, I found myself with some time to reflect on the many blessings this year has brought.
Our graduates are leading with Mercy all over the world in their respective industries, our students are learning the skills and values needed to be compassionate citizens, and our faculty and staff are continuously rising to meet the needs of our campus community.
Yet, I am conscious of the difficulties that surround us. With each passing headline, it is clear our Critical Concerns of Integrity, Respect, Service, and Social Justice cry for attention. And so, whatever this year has held for all of us as a nation and for each of us as individuals, we come together during this season to give thanks for the many blessings we do share as members of the GMercyU family.
For me, in our unsettled world, this community's willingness to extend Mercy is a constant consolation. In the words of Catherine McAuley, you are all "shining lamps, giving light to all around us."
In closing, I would like to share something from Sister of Mercy Kathleen Smith. Sister Kathleen said, "the beauty of community can be recognized when we gather together and share." This holiday season, it is my hope that we always recognize and celebrate the beauty of this community, Gwynedd Mercy University.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
