GMercyU Bachelor of Social Work Program Earns Accreditation

GMercyU's School of Arts & Sciences has announced that the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Program has earned accreditation by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).

The program achieved accreditation as planned, before the first class of BSW students graduates this May.

Graduates of GMercyU's BSW Program will be eligible to sit for the Pennsylvania Social Work Exam and apply for state licensure at the Bachelors level through the State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Licensed Professional Counselors.

The accreditation also enables graduates of our program to have eligibility for advanced standing in CSWE masters programs, saving them a full year toward completion of a Master of Social Work (MSW).
