GMercyU Partners with the Bucks-Mont Collaborative to Offer Free CEUs
Gwynedd Mercy University has signed an agreement to provide and oversee Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for members of the Bucks-Mont Collaborative, a local non-profit organization dedicated to health and human service issues.
CEUs are nationally recognized measurements for continuing education programs, typically earned by those in a licensed profession who need to keep their skills up to date to maintain licensure.
"We are thrilled to form this partnership with Bucks-Mont Collaborative to enhance their many continuing education events," said GMercyU Social Work Program Director Wade Luquet, PhD, LCSW. "BMC has been an important part of the non-profit sector in Bucks and Montgomery County with more than 90 partner organizations."
As a program accredited by the Council for Social Work Education, GMercyU's Bachelor Social Work program is a pre-approved CEU provider through the State of Pennsylvania Board of Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Therapists.
"The Bucks-Mont Collaborative is honored to partner with Gwynedd Mercy University, whose values of service to society and social justice align with our commitment to collaborative action for an equitable and just society," said Kristyn DiDominick, Coordinator, Bucks-Mont Collaborative.
"While the Bucks-Mont Collaborative has offered CEUs in the past, this is the first time that we'll be able to offer our members and the community free CEUs for all of our trainings and community summit. We are deeply appreciative to the Bachelor of Social Work Program for this partnership and to Dr. Wade Luquet for championing this initiative," said DiDominick. "Social workers, counselors, and therapists work tirelessly to serve our community; being able to provide free CEUs to support their work and professional development is a small way to share our big thanks for their work and commitment."
