GMercyU Celebrates Retirement of Longtime Dining Employee
Gwynedd Mercy University recently celebrated the retirement of longtime dining hall employee Charles Minor.
Charles has been a beloved member of the GMercyU Community for 42 years, joining the staff at just 18 years old. Throughout his time at the University, Charles has worked for multiple dining companies, including Parkhurst Dining Services for the last 15 years - a true testament to his dedication to GMercyU.
"I've been through about five or six companies, all treated me well.", Charles said. "I always said I would stay as long as my legs would hold me up."
Throughout his time at GMercyU, Charles has been a warm and smiling face for the thousands of students, faculty and staff he has served. He has served as a mentor for the many student-workers he has worked alongside and has become a fixture on campus.
"Parkhurst is so excited to celebrate the retirement of Charles Minor. Charles is such a dedicated and hard worker, always lending a hand to anyone he could help," GMercyU's Parkhurst Dining General Manager Jen Rodolofo said. "We will miss his sense of humor and his laughter that he brought to our team each and every day."
While sad to be leaving GMercyU, Charles is looking forward to relaxing and taking a vacation.
"I'm going to miss the students and the way they made me laugh," Charles said.
