Cancer Awareness Club Runs Holiday Toy Drive
GMercyU’s Cancer Awareness Club Founder and President Zach Redican, junior baseball player, organized the club’s second Holiday Toy Drive. From now until December 16, toy donations will be collected in University Hall and St. Bernard Hall.
The Cancer Awareness Club has partnered with Gilda’s Club and Lisa’s Army, local charities, to provide children and families affected by cancer with something special this holiday season.
“In the past, we have held basketball tournaments and cornhole tournaments to raise money for Ovarian Cancer research and Cancer awareness. But this is my favorite event,” Zach said. “It is always nice to deliver the gifts and see a smile on everyone’s face. It’s a great feeling to know we are making an impact and making someone’s holiday season a little brighter!”
