GMercyU Hosts Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School Students
In partnership with the Center for Teaching and Learning, Keiss Library welcomed Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School students on February 27 and 28.
The 38 students in two ninth grade English classes and their teacher walked to the library for an orientation, library tour, scavenger hunt, and introduction to information literacy. Students were engaged and asked questions, and the teacher also learned about resources to share with other Academy educators.
Since Academy students have borrowing privileges at Keiss Library, the visit was an opportunity to highlight services and promote why students will want to seek out the library as a resource throughout their high school and academic careers.
To continue the effort, more ninth grade Academy students will visit during the next trimester, and the teacher is making Academy faculty aware of what is available to their students at Keiss Library.
By hosting teachers and students in the library, we hope to establish a long-term partnership with Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School.
