Dr. Evelyn Nuñez Serves as Graduate Commencement SpeakerDr. Evelyn Nuñez is a proud product of the School district of Philadelphia and first generation graduate. Dr. Nuñez’s career has spanned 29 years, beginning as a Bilingual Elementary Teacher. She currently serves as the Associate Superintendent of Elementary Schools in the School District of Philadelphia and has previously held the positions of Chief of Schools, Assistant Superintendent, Principal, Teacher Coach and teacher within the School District of Philadelphia. She has also worked for a series of Charter Schools in the capacity of Superintendent, Chief Academic Officer, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and School Director.
Dr. Nuñez is a servant leader focused on making an impact on the lives of the children in the same community that raised her- Philadelphia. With a “students first” focus, Dr. Nuñez is committed to ensuring ALL students receive a high-quality education, working collaboratively with stakeholders, creating partnerships and building relationships.

Dr. Nuñez earned her undergraduate degree in early Childhood Education from Chestnut Hill College, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Principal Certification from Cheyney University, Letter of Eligibility (Superintendent Certificate) from Arcadia University and her Doctorate Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Gwynedd Mercy University. Nuñez is the Vice President of PAHSA (Pennsylvania Association of Hispanic School Administrators) and a member of the National Association ALAS (Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents).

Dr. Nuñez has served on a number of local boards and is a member of numerous local, state and national organizations. In addition, Dr. Nuñez serves as an Dissertation Advisor at Gwynedd Mercy University. Her interest include travel, music, mentoring other women and spending time with her family, friends and Natalia -her 21 year old daughter who graduates from college in the Spring of 2023.
