Gwynedd Mercy University Names New Chief Information Officer
Gwynedd Mercy University has named Mike Statmore, MBA as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO). Statmore will take over the role from Gregg Chottiner, who left the University in August.
Statmore has more than 30 years of experience in information technology (IT) leadership across multiple industries, including higher education. Most recently, Statmore served as the Director of Operational Excellence & Senior Product Owner (Higher Education & Accreditation) at iseek.ai, an EdTech company that leverages artificial intelligence to deliver curriculum search, online testing, and analytics to both K-12 and higher education. Statmore also has served as CIO at Post University and Progressive Business Publications. In his 10 years at Post University, Statmore established a strategic direction for the IT department, built and developed a top-performing team, and established a new IT infrastructure to support the university’s scalability and growth in online education.
“Gwynedd Mercy University is excited to welcome an accomplished and experienced leader to our campus,” said Jim Trusdell, MBA, Chief Operating Officer. “Mike will bring great knowledge and strategic leadership to the University as we continue to build on our position as a Catholic University leader in healthcare and professional education.”
Statmore earned his Master of Business Administration from West Chester University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Classics degree from Hobart College.
“I am so excited to join the GMercyU community, especially during a time of growth and change,” said Statmore. “I look forward to supporting the University in achieving its mission and goals through strong information technology leadership with a focus on operational excellence.”
