Griffins' Clark and Maska Named to 2023-2024 NABC Honors Court

Earlier this week, Gwynedd Mercy University men’s basketball graduate Manny Clark (Pottsgrove, Pa.) and senior Kyle Maska (West Deptford, N.J.) were two of more than 2,100 student-athletes to earn recognition on the 2023-2024 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court (.PDF). The NABC Honors Court, which honors junior, senior, and graduate men’s basketball student-athletes who complete the given academic year with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher. The individual honors were announced on Monday, July 15, alongside the association’s Team Academic Excellence Awards. This year, 360 programs received NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards.

The 2022-2023 Gwynedd Mercy University Athletics Male Senior Student-Athlete of the Year, Clark is a four-time member of both the Gwynedd Mercy University Athletics Academic Elite (Fall 2022, Spring 2023, Fall 2023, Spring 2024) and the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) All-Academic Team (2019-2020, 2020-2021, 2022-2023, 2023-2024). This is the accounting majors’ second straight season garnering recognition from the NABC as he was also a member of the 2022-2023 Honor Court.

Maska was inducted to Chi Alpha Sigma; the National College Athlete Honor Society in 2024. The occupational science and therapy dual major, minored in psychology while earning three appearances on the AEC All-Academic Team (2020-2021, 2021-2022, 2023-2024) and five appearances on the Gwynedd Mercy University Athletics Academic Elite (Fall 2021, Spring 2022, Fall 2022, Spring 2023, Spring 2024).
