Nursing and Social Work Students Travel to Mustard Seed
Catherine Razzi, DNP, RN, ACNS, Program Coordinator for GMercyU’s Direct-Entry Master of Science in Nursing (DEMSN) had an adventure-filled summer, starting with a service trip to Mustard Seed Community in Jamaica. Alongside Dr. Laraine Amoia Watters and Dr. Janice Nuss, Dr. Razzi helped lead nursing and social work students on a mission trip to provide community caregivers with evidence-based practices to give the best care to vulnerable populations. The trip is part of GMercyU’s International Global Outreach course, an elective available to undergraduate Nursing and Social Work students.
Presentation at Carlow University Roundtable in Dublin, Ireland
This past May, Dr. Razzi attended the Carlow University Roundtable in Dublin, Ireland alongside other GMercyU representatives. The meeting included Mercy institutions from across the globe, with a discussion focused on how the Mercy mission is integrated into programs.
Dr. Razzi shared a presentation titled Interprofessional Global Outreach Course: Mustard Seed, which focused on how GMercyU incorporates a mission trip into its International Global Outreach course curriculum. Presentation at the National Association of School Nurses
In addition to her presentation at the Carlow University Roundtable, Dr. Razzi presented at the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) Conference in Chicago, IL in July. During a breakout session, Dr. Razzi shared her work on Mental Health Assessment in the School Setting: An Update on Assessments, Interventions, and Treatment.
