GMercyU Ranked as a National University for the Third Consecutive Year
Gwynedd Mercy University ranked as a national university on U.S. News & World Report’s annual best Colleges Rankings for the third year in a row.
The 2022-2023 academic year marked the first time GMercyU was ranked as a national university after previously being listed on U.S. News & World Report’s Best Regional Universities list.
This designation solidifies GMercyU’s place amongst top institutions from across the country. Further proving GMercyU’s place was when the University jumped 71 places in the ranking, the sixth largest jump nationwide in 2023.
Being recognized as a national university for the third consecutive year continues the momentum as GMercyU looks towards the future to meet the next great need, beginning with the new Frances M. Maguire Healthcare Innovation Center which is set to open in 2025. This new state-of-the-market hub of healthcare innovation will address the urgent, increasing need for compassionate healthcare professionals by preparing students to work in a collaborative environment with other disciplines.
In addition to the construction of the Healthcare Innovation Center, campus transformations include the newly renovated interior and exterior of GMercyU's first-year residence hall, the Frank O. Genuardi Legends Field grand opening, and the improvements to the University's indoor athletics facility.
Student outcomes remain a primary focus for GMercyU. According to a 2023 survey, 97% of recent grads were employed our in graduate school withing six months of graduation. In addition, the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program earned its highest first-time NCLEX pass rate in fall 2023 and Respiratory Care students achieved a 100 percent final pass rate on the Certified Respiratory Therapist exam and a 100 percent final pass rate on the Registered Respiratory Therapist exam.
To further meet the next great need, GMercyU is continuing to launch new programs and creating strategic partnerships, including the new Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science program set to welcome its first cohort in fall 2025 and the Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology that launched this fall. The Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) program recently announced a partnership with West Chester University (WCU) to provide a streamlined pathway for WCU Occupational Science students to complete their MSOT degree at GMercyU in two additional years.
