GMercyU Hosts Annual Superintendents’ Study Council Meeting
Each year, Dr. Ray Bandlow, Professor of Education Policy and Program Director of Doctoral Studies, hosts the Superintendents’ Study Council Meeting. The focus of this year’s meeting was the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in schools and colleges.
This year’s presenters included Dr. Margaret Rakus, Assistant Professor and Director, Digital Marketing & Communications, who presented on the utilization of AI at the college level, and Richard Curtis K12 STEAM Coordinator, New Hope-Solebury School District and current doctoral student.
Curtis spoke about his dissertation topic, Artificial Intelligence in Secondary Education: A Phenomenological Exploration of AI Utilization Among High School Juniors and Seniors. During the research process, Curtis surveyed 200 students from three high school to discover why and how they are using AI. He found that they all use AI, but for a variety of purposes.
