Sport Business Association Attends 76ers Career Fair
Students from the Sport Business Association (SBA) at GMercyU recently attended the 76ers Career Fair at the Wells Fargo Center, presented by TeamWork Online. Organizations present included the Philadelphia 76ers, the Philadelphia Phillies, the Philadelphia Flyers, and more. While there, attendees heard from the following panelists:
- Chris Adams, Manager of Fan Development for the Philadelphia 76ers
- Cassidy Haller, Manager of Inside Sales for the Philadelphia 76ers
- Katie Schreck, Coordinator of Partnership Solutions for the Philadelphia 76ers
- Jonathan Jackson, Coordinator of Corporate Partnerships Activations for the Philadelphia 76ers
GMercyU students had the opportunity to reconnect with previous connections and offer them GMercyU swag bags.
At the fair, students learned about internships, entry-level positions, gameday positions, and volunteer opportunities. Afterward, students had the opportunity to watch the 76ers play the Cleveland Cavaliers.
“As a freshman, the 76ers Career Fair was a great opportunity to start growing my network and connecting with different organizations. I was able to learn about different internship positions while also being able to get my name into the sport industry,” shared Brianna Ryan, first-year Sport Management major.
“The Career Fair was a great experience. It was a great way to meet professionals and all the different organizations in the sports industry. Adding the game to it at the end made it an overall great time,” said Ethan Ferraro, senior Sport Management major.
It was an especially successful event for Sport Management major Christion Johnson, who was invited to Chase Field House to volunteer with the Delaware Blue Coats for the entire season.
