Current Position: Senior Fraud Analyst at Rue Gilt Groupe

I chose Gwynedd Mercy University because I wanted the opportunity to grow academically and athletically. The small classes and one-on-one time with professors allowed me to connect with them on a deeper level. My professors knew my strengths and weaknesses and therefore, were able to tailor one-on-one support to my needs.
When I first came to Gwynedd Mercy University, I was an education major. Then I switched from an education major to undecided and then finally to Criminal Justice.
Experience in GMercyU’s Criminal Justice Program
My experience in the Criminal Justice program was one I will never forget. When I first met “Doc” (Professor Patrick McGrain), I knew I would never be switching majors again. He believed in me throughout the whole program and was always there when I needed a friend, a teacher, or just someone to talk to.
Then, Doc brought on another professor during my junior year, Lorraine Phillips. These two are some of the most dynamic, amazing, caring, and charismatic professors on GMercyU’s campus. They both helped me achieve goals, listened, and helped me land my first internship.
The Criminal Justice program offers an extensive amount of hands-on experience which directly translates into the real world, and that you won’t find on any other campus.
Life as a Student-Athlete
In addition to the great academic support, GMercyU offers great athletic support as well. I played four years on GMercyU’s women’s tennis team and was always able to put academics first with no hesitations from my coach. All of the coaches on campus are very understanding and encourage all players to keep their academics in line. GMercyU created an amazing academic and athletic balance for students.
Post-Graduation Path
The combination of support and hands-on experience helped me land my first internship with The TJX Companies, Inc. I was hired as a loss prevention intern in summer 2019. During my internship there, I realized that I could see myself in a loss prevention role after graduation. The internship taught me team building, loss analysis, and hands-on investigation techniques.
However, post grad reality set in when the global pandemic hit, and many jobs were going off the market. I relied on professors to keep my drive alive and it paid off. A couple months after graduation, I landed my dream job as a loss prevention analyst with an online fashion retailer, Rue Gilt Groupe.
Once the pandemic is over, I will be moving up to Massachusetts to work full-time in their Boston office as a part of the finance team.
Life Updates
Since graduating from GMercyU, Jenna has worked her way up at Rue Gilt Groupe, first as Fraud Analyst and now as Senior Fraud Analyst. She's since earned her Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE) designation. The certification marks a significant milestone in her professional career. While challenging, the journey and end result were rewarding.
"Effective fraud prevention and detection are more important than ever to navigate in an evolving fraud landscape. I look forward to utilizing my in-depth knowledge and expertise to investigate, identify, and mitigate fraudulent activity," shared Jenna.
