My favorite part about GMercyU is the environment. As someone who went to four different high schools, it has brought me great joy to plan roots and grow in a four-year university that allows for community building.
Journey to GMercyU
After attending four different high schools across the country, Natasha Halovanic graduated from North Penn High School in 2020.
In her search for colleges, Natasha knew she wanted a school that would provide her with a sense of community, so her mother suggested visiting GMercyU.
“Once I stepped foot on campus, I was immediately struck by the welcoming atmosphere, and as I learned more about the programs and opportunities GMercyU afforded, I grew more and more interested in the college,” Natasha said.
Experience in Digital Communications
“I chose Digital Communications because I had been interested in advertising and marketing, and the major sounded like a great opportunity to not only learn about these areas but also related topics,” Natasha shared.
Natasha has loved her experience in the program so far.
“The more classes I take, the more I learn and the more invested I become in the program and my future,” Natasha said.
She really enjoys the concept of “Content Marketing,” so any classes that involve content creation are her favorites. Her three favorite courses are Video Production, Podcasting, and Capstone.
I recommend this program because it provides so much knowledge and hands-on experience that you can apply to a variety of fields once you graduate. As someone who loves and wants to have a strong skillset, this major is perfect for that.
Natasha is currently the first Digital Communications student enrolled in the 4+1 MBA program.
“I am pursuing my MBA because I hope to one day lead a team in my industry; right now, I’m a shift supervisor at my job, and I take great pride and joy in delegating, getting tasks done, and motivating my team,” Natasha said.
In addition to her academic experience, Natasha is a three-year member of the Pride Alliance club.
Post-Graduation
After gradating from GMercyU with her BS in Digital Communication and MBA, Natasha hopes to lead a team within a communications or marketing department, and prefers to work in content marketing.
