GMercyU on Track for Five-Year Record in Applications, Admits
Gwynedd Mercy University is looking ahead to a strong 2025 fueled by a 70% increase in admitted students for fall 2025 compared to this time last year. This is the largest number of admitted students in more than five years.
The University has already surpassed the total of fall 2024 first year admitted students by nearly 200.
These increases come at an exciting time for the University. This past fall, GMercyU was recognized as a national University by U.S. News & World Report for the third straight year. This designation speaks highly to the University’s mission of preparing students for successful careers and meaningful lives as evidenced by the 96% of recent graduates who were employed or in graduate school within six months of graduating, according to a 2024 survey.
The incoming 2025 class will be the first group of new students to utilize the new Frances M. Maguire '55 Healthcare Innovation Center – a state-of-the-market hub of innovation and education that will provide space for healthcare and other majors who support the healthcare industry, such as Computer Science students, to learn together using the latest technology. It is set to open in fall 2025.
Other recent campus enhancements include interior and exterior renovations to residence halls, new eateries on campus, and renovations to the baseball and softball fields and Griffin (Athletic) Complex.
The University also furthered its commitment to making a college education more accessible - with 100% of first-time, full-time students receiving financial aid and more than $4 million in new scholarships added in the past three years. Increased scholarship funding is one of three areas of focus for GMercyU's Mercy in Motion Comprehensive Campaign, which launched in January 2022.
GMercyU also remains focused on launching new market-driven programs and expanding existing programs, including adding a new Exercise Science program for fall 2025 and a 4+2 Early Entry to GMercyU’s MS in Counseling program and 2+2 Master of Science in Educational Administration and Doctorate of Education program, among other additions.
“Our team has enjoyed getting to know students and their families this fall and we’re excited to keep the momentum going in the new year,” Interim Vice President for Enrollment Aimee Huffstetler said. “It’s a great time to be a GMercyU Griffin.”
